Purpose:

The Merchandiser is responsible for promoting, displaying and selling the company’s beauty and personal care products across various retail outlets. The role focuses on maximizing product visibility, driving sales growth, maintaining strong relationships with retailers and customers, and ensuring brand consistency in the marketplace. The Merchandiser plays a key role in executing in-store marketing initiatives, maintaining stock levels, and providing feedback on market trends and customer preferences.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales and Merchandising

  • Promote and sell beauty and personal care products to retailers and end consumers.
  • Ensure that product displays are attractive, well-stocked and aligned with company branding.
  • Achieve or exceed assigned sales targets and performance objectives.
  • Conduct regular visits to retail outlets and distribution points to monitor product performance.
  • Ensure proper product placement, pricing, labeling and promotional materials are in place.
  • Collect and report customer feedback to support continuous improvement in products and services.
  • Participate in in-store promotions, product demonstrations and marketing campaigns.
  • Maintain accurate sales records and submit regular reports to the Sales Supervisor.

Inventory and Stock Management

  • Monitor product availability and report low stock or overstock situations.
  • Ensure timely restocking of products.
  • Coordinate with logistics team to ensure smooth product delivery to outlets.
  • Conduct basic stock counts and assist in inventory audits when required.

Customer and Market Relations

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with store managers, retailers and customers.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to management based on market trends and consumer insights.

Brand Representation

  • Represent Lowcost Distributors professionally at all times.
  • Uphold company values and maintain product and brand image standards.
  • Ensure all marketing materials and displays adhere to brand guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Education: Diploma or Certificate in Sales, Marketing, Business or related field.
  • Experience: At least 1-2 years’ experience in merchandising, sales or marketing (preferably in beauty or FMCG industry).

Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent sales and negotiation abilities.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet targets.
  • Basic computer literacy (MS Excel, Word, reporting tools).
  • Willingness to travel and work in the field.

Working Conditions

  • Field-based role requiring regular visits to retail locations.
  • May involve weekend or holiday work during promotions or events.
