Salary: Ksh 50,000 Gross per month + Performance-Based Commission

ROLE PURPOSE
The Business Development & Sales Executive plays a key role in driving revenue growth across all Rikara Group business units.
This role is responsible for generating, managing, and closing business opportunities across:

Product sales (FMCG, procurement goods, energy solutions, and distribution products)

Service sales (consultancy, insurance, digital services, and project-based solutions)
-
Bid and tender opportunities (public and private sector)
The role requires a commercially driven individual who can manage the full sales cycle, from lead generation and client engagement to proposal development, tender coordination, negotiation, and deal closure.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Sales – Products & Services
Product Sales
-
Promote and sell products including FMCG goods, procurement supplies, energy solutions, and distribution items.

Identify and develop relationships with retail, wholesale, corporate, and institutional buyers.

Drive consistent product sales revenue across assigned markets.
-
Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and commercial agreements with clients.
Service Sales
-
Sell Group service offerings including consultancy, insurance solutions, digital services, project management, and advisory services.

Conduct client needs assessments and develop tailored service proposals.
-
Collaborate with technical teams to structure accurate solutions and pricing.
-
Drive repeat business and long-term service contracts.
Revenue Generation
-
Own the end-to-end sales process from lead generation to deal closure.

Convert qualified leads into paying clients across all Group subsidiaries.
-
Maintain active client relationships to support retention and upselling.
B. Business Development & Client Engagement
-
Identify and pursue new business opportunities across all Group sectors.

Conduct client meetings, presentations, and solution demonstrations.
-
Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospects through networking, referrals, and direct outreach.
-
Develop and maintain strong long-term client relationships.
C. Bid & Tender Management
-
Identify relevant public and private sector tender opportunities.
-
Evaluate bids for strategic fit, technical requirements, and success probability.
-
Coordinate preparation of tender submissions across multiple departments.
-
Work with technical, finance, and administrative teams to compile complete bid documentation.
-
Ensure compliance with all tender requirements and submission deadlines.
-
Maintain bid libraries, templates, and compliance documentation.
-
Track tender outcomes and document lessons learned for improvement.
D. Pipeline & Reporting

Maintain a structured and updated sales pipeline across products, services, and tenders.
-
Track all leads, opportunities, and conversions in line with Group reporting standards.

Provide weekly sales performance reports including:

Ensure adherence to the Group’s 7–14–30 day follow-up framework.

Revenue Performance

Sales Activity

Minimum number of client engagements and meetings per week.

Pipeline Management

Active and updated sales pipeline across all business units.

Timely follow-up on all leads and proposals.
Bid Performance

Identification and evaluation of relevant tender opportunities.

High-quality, compliant bid submissions with minimal disqualification risk.
Client Retention

Maintenance of strong post-sale relationships.

Repeat business and upselling from existing clients.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Sales & Marketing or related field.
-
Experience in sales, business development, account management, or tender coordination.
-
Exposure to B2B sales, corporate clients, or institutional procurement is an advantage.

Experience across multiple industries is highly desirable.
